Out To Swim

View Original

Hi swimmers,

As we head into the summer and look towards next year's Gay Games, I wanted to bring your attention to a couple of things:

Don't leave it too late too register for Middlesex GLLAM2017 and Gay Games.

GLLAM2017 is a great event for everyone - swimmers just starting out, the seasoned swimmers or those who just want to have fun while swimming!

We are doing time trial this Wednesday at E&C Thursday 8-9 session and then Sunday the 23rd at LAC this so you can get times to enter into GLLAM2017.

Use Middlesex as a warm up for GLLAM2017 and then use these competitions to help you decide what to swim next year at Gay Games. Worried? speak to other swimmers in the club who compete, our swim captains - Andrew Benson and Laura Rowsome, both very experienced. Have a chat with people in your lane / other lanes and the coaches. Between us all we can support each other in getting you to reach your goals and to compete!

From the coaches' point of view, we want to make sure we get the best out of you all and so one thing we would really like all of you to do is invest in some fins and paddles. These toys can be used to support your training, improve your technique and make you a better swimmer! We will be starting to use these in sessions and if you don't have them, believe me, you will wish you did.

You do not need to buy the most expensive ones you find just as long as you are comfortable wearing and using them.

Sessions where you should have them with you are as follows:

Tuesday's when we are back at ULU

Wednesday's at both London Bridge and Elephant & Castle

Thursday London bridge and Oasis 8-9pm session

Friday's Marshall St

Sunday's LAC and QM

Be aware that you may not use them every time but better to be prepared and have them than not! Also good to take for the stroke clinics taking place next month.

That's all for now, have a safe summer.

Michelle
