Gay Games Waterpolo tournament

Now we are back on home soil, I wanted to say well done to all who went to Gay Games - our efforts in and out of the water were legendary again.

Huge thanks to our honorary lifetime title holding Secretary for Foreign Affairs David for his amazing work. Also, well done to the team captains - Tom, Richard, Daniel and David and of course to the Shorca players lead by Lorraine.

I felt proud of the way we also integrated with the wider Out to Swim club and the winning Pink Flamingo entry was the culmination of a lot of effort but in particular by the creative leadership of Christophe.

Results

In the competitive division, there were 15 teams and our Orca 1 team came 9th after a slow start and strong performance in the knock-out rounds. In the recreational division, we had 2 full teams and also a majority on a 3rd team together with Manchester. The Manchester Shorca (Sharks/Orca) team almost won a bronze medal, coming 4th. The Orca 2 team came joint 5th, and the Orca 3 team came joint 15th.
