Trans & Non-Binary Swimmers
Out To Swim is committed to providing aquatics sports to all. That includes our Trans & Non-Binary friends.
Trans & Non-Binary individuals are welcome at all Out To Swim sessions and we are proud to welcome them as part of our team. We have a number of trans & non-binary members who have found confidence and success across our disciplines.
We recognise that many of the pools we use do not cater adequately for the needs of all the trans & non-binary communities. To this end, we are actively working with our operators to help them be more inclusive and accessible.
Gender Identity & Competition
In aquatics, trans & non-binary individuals continue to face additional challenges when it comes to competition. Ridged gender rules can make it seem like it is impossible to be involved in competitive sport, but Out To Swim are committed to helping you be involved.
In the past, we have worked with trans members of our club to obtain exceptions from Swim England and if you would like to do this, we will support you through this process. Out To Swim is also working with Swim England to update their rules in respect of trans & non-binary swimmers.
We are proud to be supporting the inclusion of everyone in aquatics.
